My Progress thus far

I've already been learning a lot more about the musical world, by the way. So I thought I'd tell you a little bit about the new musicals I've learned this summer.

Kerrigan and Lowdermilk:
This isn't a musical, haha. This is two people who write musicals. I don't know any of their musicals fully, but I know a lot of their music (through their website and through youtube). It's absolutely amazing. You have absolutely no idea. Seriously. They're actually my inspiration. I have listened to more Kerrigan and Lowdermilk in the past month than I've listened to anything ('cept maybe Wicked) in my entire life. My favorites are Run Away with Me and Freedom and Not a Love Story and Not Her Way. I could write an entire blog about them.

Bare:
You already know this, if you follow my blog. I blogged about it recently: http://pslszmandaiml.blogspot.com/2009/06/bare-pop-opera.html

Next to Normal:
This musical is really, really good. The music is very intense, the show is really intense, and the characters are all outrageous. I'm definitely going to see this in New York if possible.

Title of Show:
This is the funniest thing I've ever listened to. I can actually relate to so many songs, which never happens, because I'm going to be writing musicals, too. But even if I'm not, it's hysterical. These two guys are amazing. You'll love it, I promise.

One thing that interests me about my summer is my complete transformation of my "favorites" bar that Firefox lets you have. Now, instead of being Facebook and FMyLife and Blackboard and My blog and Twitter and Sporcle and basically fun things, it consists of Facebook, Broadway.com, LXTV: New York, Your Weekly Address, Blackboard, Inbox (muohio email), NYMF, Study Musicals (musicalwriters.com), Critique's Circle, mtishows.com, and NY times. I know you probably don't care, but it really interests me what I now focus on. I'm glad I'm actually getting really into New York and theatre and more importantly, politics.

One of these days, we'll get you hooked on Google Reader and you'll check all those sites in one click.

But it is good to see your focuses shift in such a positive way.
