NYRU

That's New Year's Resolution Update, by the way.

1. Write More: This has been going fairly well. So far the only contribution to this resolution, however, has been the daily prompts. I'm going to start adding a little more to the mix once I get some ideas sorted out. I'm thinking of incorporating a "Grammar Lesson of the Week" or, since I get dictionary.com's daily word, ending each week with an original story that includes all 7 words of that week. I also want to incorporate some poetry into the mix, since I don't really write that much or that well, and I want to.

2. More Cultured: I finished reading Angels and Demons. I'm reading Atlas Shrugged now- a book I borrowed from Laurel that I haven't gotten around to yet. I started researching the election last night. I found out Hilary Clinton is my best match at 61% and then I have like 5 matches at 60%. I'm trying to broaden my knowledge of Latin mythology, too. So we'll see how that goes.

3. Look Good/ Feel Good: Eh. I've been walking to work a lot, eating significantly healthier at work (though I can't seem to stop eating the chicken, sorry Jay), and sleeping a lot more. I really want to get an exercise tape because aerobic dance ends soon but I want to keep doing it. I also need a good yoga CD. If anyone knows where to get one...I'd love to know.

4. See More Friends and Family: Well, this still could use some improvement. I'll see a lot of people due to musical, and that'll be fun. And getting off all those nights from work will be beneficial 'cause we can all go out to dinner and such. Laurel and I are hanging out on Saturday, though and that'll be fun.

5: Look Pretty: I'm getting a lot of compliments lately on how pretty I look, which is really making me happy and encouraging me to keep going. Maybe on my Laurel&Me Day this Saturday, we can buy more girly stuff. Like earings and hairclips. I need stuff like that. But I love all the compliments I'm getting. It makes me feel really good.

6. Give more to the community: Well, I am starting my Gold Award. I'm bothered because I don't have time for it, but at the same time it would be a really good thing to do. I also plan on keeping in tune with the school for some of their fund raisers so I can give to those.

7. Take more pictures: Well, I did take a lot for my physics project. I plan on getting out and taking some more on Saturday with Laurel. I'm also going to take some at work tomorrow, possibly, since that's always fun.

8: Get a New Job: Well, I'm going to fill out that application soon, but I'm not sure if I should wait until musical is over or apply during musical to get the job. We'll see how that goes.

I didn't think you'd joined New York Rivers United.

#1 - I think the vocabulary integration will help. I used to randomly do that in AIM chats with one friend of mine; I'd build up a rather normal conversation almost to a point of ridiculousness, then BAM!, use the word of the day in bold, capital letters.

#2 - Political "match"? Sounds like you took a quiz. Make sure you also do your own research, as well. Might a suggest this as a good starting point.

#3-8 - Well, they are lower priority, so it's understandable that these will progress slower. But it sounds like they're all progressing well!

"Might I* suggest..."

I hate it when I do that.

haha i am doing research, i just took the quiz for fun. i don't really know what's "important" to me or not, so the quiz can't be accurate.
