band trip '06

the band trip was so much fun. really, it was.

the ride down was long. very long. it started out at midnightish thursday morning, where everyone went to sleep imediately, well, except for me. even after jay went on the floor and gave me two seats to lay out on, i still couldn't fall asleep. both rest stops went by, and finally i fell asleep between about 5 and 7. jay got up around 7:30, and breakfast was soon. breakfast was fun. they had food i liked. caitlin, janie, libbyann, jay, keith and i all sat together. then we rode the bus for forever and finally i think lunch was after that. the ride continued all the way until we got to the beach. our hotel. our amazing hotel on the beach. janie and i went swimming in the wonderful ocean. something about that night was just...amazing. so much fun. then practice time came, and boy oh boy did things go wrong then. while symphonic band was practicing a meeting was called, and insteading of going for our walk on the beach, janie and i sat at the table 'til symphonic band was done. and then we got told of the people who got in trouble. man, some people can be so stupid. oh, and there's this great hospitality room. amazing place. with food. yumm..but anyways...the day was ruined by stupid people.

friday was our competition day. concert band first. we didn't do as bad as i thought, when we listened to our tape yesterday. but when i was sitting there, and we were playing, we sounded horrible. i was told later that ted's music was out of order, and he had to make up his solo, so i sort of forgive him for that, sorta. the rest of the day is kind of a blur, because the other bands were just...i don't know. bands. they were all amazing, but after i was done, i just, stopped thinking. i hung out with janie a lot. and caitylin. libby sometimes too. jane and i got our walk this night. we talked about...well, everything. i really love the beach, the ocean, just everything. i didn't think about homework, about home, about...well, anything stressful. it was nice.

saturday was marching band, drumline (amazing job), majorettes and bethettes (also just WOW). it was so funny, when janie, caitylin and i were sitting and watching drumline and all that, mr k asked me "where's jay!" and when i said "oh, umm..over there" he was like "but isn't he always with you?". it was funny. maybe i do hang out with jay too much? i don't know. we actually had some free time after this. jane and caitlin and i went to the ocean and swam. what fun. i took some pictures, really random ones. then jane and megan insisted that i had to get dressed up for the dixie stampede/award thing. so megan did my makeup- yes i said makeup!- and janie did my hair. i wore a really pretty shirt, and tada. i was all dressie. everyone liked it, as in everyone but me. but what can i do? i guess i'll live. the show was good, the food even better. we won something like 21 awards.

sunday janie and i woke up to see the sunrise. it was...just wow. i took a thousand pictures :-\. the morning was just, so relaxing. janie went to mass, keith went to that nondenominational thing. caitlin and i hung out most of the morning together. i gave her the nickname caitylin this day. just because it sounds cool. then we went to broadway on the beach. on the ride there, i got a little sick, and so while we were there, i wasn't feeling so good. broadway on the beach was a lot of shops. we saw some really neat things. everyone found something they liked. janie and liz went freakishly shopping without us. jay got stuff at margaritaville (sp?), keith got a god shirt thing, libby ann got taffy, and caitlin....i swear she got something... haha. then we ate dinner at gorges seafood buffet. i hate seafood, but they had good other food. it was fun.

the ride home was also long. cept this time jay stayed up, and i slept a little. we got home, end of story....

See, this is why I didn't go into great detail about my trip: I have no idea who most of those people are!

But it sounds like you had fun...
